Gail Hogan
Growing up in Texas where storytelling is a way of life, Gail Hogan has been telling stories ever since she learned to talk. In the early 80’s she moved to Georgia and began her storytelling in earnest.
For over 21 years Ms. Gail, or her alias Rita Goodbook, has been sharing books and the magic of stories with children in schools across Hall County, as an employee of the Hall County Public Library. Some of her earliest storytime listeners are now adults who fondly recall the wonderful stories she shared with them as they grew up.
In addition to her employment Gail has been involved in telling stories for years to summer campers in the Blueridge Mountains. She is also one of the founding storytellers of the annual Northeast Georgia Ghost Walk where she delights in digging up local historical ghost stories from the Gainesville area, including the resident spirit which resides in the main branch of the library.
Besides scary tales she loves the lessons and stories which can be learned from our Native American brothers and sisters. Of all the stories she has told over the years it is these tales that are most loved and remembered by her audiences.
