deboDeborah Strahorn - Deborah Strahorn has worked as a professional storyteller since the late 1990s. Creating a story experience that engages the audience she is convinced that storytelling is the Voice of Literacy. She has appeared at many festivals, storytelling events, schools and libraries and is currently working on her first children’s book We Went For a Walk.
gail-hogan-smallGail Hogan - Growing up in Texas where storytelling is a way of life, Gail Hogan has been telling stories ever since she learned to talk. She is also one of the founding storytellers of the annual Northeast Georgia Ghost Walk where she delights in digging up local historical ghost stories from the Gainesville area. Besides scary tales she loves the lessons and stories which can be learned from our Native American brothers and sisters.  Of all the stories she has told over the years it is these tales that are most loved and remembered by her audiences.
jonah-headshot-smallJonah McDonald - Jonah McDonald is an adventure guide and storyteller who loves trickster tales and stories that make us laugh and think. Jonah tells traditional tales and personal stories from his childhood and from his 2000 mile hike on the Appalachian Trail. What is Tellabration?

Tellabration! first began in 1988, produced by the late J.G. “Paw-Paw” Pinkerton and the Connecticut Storytelling Center.   That first year there were six locations, but by 1990 it had expanded to a nationwide event under the umbrella of the National Storytelling Network.  Tellabration! spread to a worldwide celebration by 1995. This is a weekend during which guilds, clusters, and story enthusiasts meet in spirit to share their voices in concerts around the globe. SOS has produced Tellabration! since 1990.

Tellabration! is, as J.G.Pinkerton once envisaged, like a night of a thousand stars — each star a story. Imagine thousands of listeners and tellers, worldwide, coming together in spirit, and approximately in “real time,” to celebrate the joy of story.  Young, old and in-between, they gather in every imaginable venue:  theatres, outdoor plazas, libraries, living rooms, community halls, colleges, museums, coffee houses, national parks, barns, historic sites, and even back yards all over the world.
